After watching the Olympics I was reminded that we all probably would like to be great athletes. We vision ourselves standing on the podium excepting the GOLD and being justly rewarded for our hours and hours of hard work listening to our coaches. We practice what we do pretty good at but we spend countless hours practicing what we fail to do almost perfectly. Our coaches are constantly trying to help us. Coaches see things that we dont see that were doing wrong and consistently teach us to work on the things that we struggle to master with some degree of consistency.Often when we wake up from that fantasy dream we go, "Oh well it would be nice to be that but I can not do it because . . . . . . . . . . ?"
I believe we all can demand some form of success in our lives, it is up to each of us to want it and then do something about it. You can make excuses of why it wont work for you but it is your mental emotions that has to first be overcome.
If you are having trouble with your trading, "dry practice", funding account with play money. Here you do two things, first take the emotion out of it because you cant loose or win and second you are able to practice exactly what you are having trouble with. Set up 5 min increments on a sheet of paper on the left hand side and every 5 minutes write down what you would do on each of the stocks that you choose to watch. Here is the tricky part. You have to be honest with yourself, if you said buy you buy and you said put a stop at X then do it. You are the only one held accountable and know the truth. Once your areas of weakness are identified you must practice that area until you can tackle it and own it.
Happy trading
